The Dragons season has come to an end with a loss to Albany in the section semi-finals. The Dragons finish the season with a record of 22-7.
The Dragons found a way to get it done against Kimball with a 67-61 victory!! It was a back and forth battle and very entertaining for the fans. Pine City will now meet Albany in the section 6AA semi-finals on Tuesday at 6 pm.
Pine City defeats Rush City by a score of 79-59 in the first round of the section 6AA playoffs!! Up next will be the quarterfinals at St. Johns on Saturday at 2:30. The Dragons will face Kimball.

The Dragons celebrated senior night with a 67-59 victory over Milaca. The Dragons finished the season at 20-6 and will be the 4 seed in section 6AA. The Dragons will host Rush City on Thursday night at 7:00 pm in the first round of the playoffs.
The Dragons came up with a big 77-63 win over Cloquet on Monday night! Next up is senior night when the Dragons take on Milaca Thursday night at home!
The Dragons turned it on in the second half and beat Chisago Lakes 84-45 on Friday night! Up next, Cloquet comes to town on Monday!
The Dragons completed their Dragon sister nights for the year last night as the first graders had their turn! We had a great turn out!! Lots of fun was had by all on both nights!!
The Dragons finished off the conference portion of the season with a 99-64 win over Ogilvie! The Dragons have now gone undefeated in the conference for four straight years!!
The Dragons picked up a big section win 69-48 over the Foley Falcons. Next up is Hoops for Hope night on Thursday against Ogilvie at home!! Please come out and support our team and a great cause!!
The Dragons took on AA power Minnehaha on Friday, February 10th. The Dragons fell by a score of 84-57. Pine City will travel to Foley on Tuesday!
On Tuesday, February 7th the Dragons clinched their 4th consecutive conference championship by defeating the Braham Bombers 56-48!! Way to go ladies!!

The Dragons played in the Granite City Classic over the holiday break. Although the team lost to Pequot Lakes and Albany, it was a great learning experience for the team. "We definitely have a better plan of what we need work on the moving forward, said Coach Hasz." The Dragons are back in conference play Tuesday the 3rd and Thursday the 5th as they travel to Onamia and Rush City to take on Mille Lacs and Rush City respectively.

3/3/22 The Dragons season has come to an end with a 55-39 loss in Milaca. We would like to say thank you to our senior players, Maddie Berglund and Carissa Nascene and also our senior managers Rhaya Merrick, Hailee Rydberg and Sammie Schneider.

Players Maddie Berglund and Carissa Nascene, along with managers, Rhaya Merrick, Hailee Rydberg and Sammie Schneider will be moving on after this season. We are so proud of them and know they will do great in the paths that they choose.

12/9/21 The Dragons played their first conference game of the season and defeated the East Central Eagles 66-22! It was a nice team victory. 5 different players hit 3 point shots! The Dragons will host Pierz on Tuesday!!
12/5/21 The Dragons played in one of the top events in the country on Saturday, December 4th. It was the Breakdown Tip-off Classic at Hopkins high school. Pine City took on highly rated St. Croix Lutheran. The Dragons lost 67-38 but competed well and had it down to 12 points with about 9 minutes to play. Up next the Dragons will have the East Central Eagles coming to town on Thursday for the first conference game of the year for the Dragons. The Dragons are now 1-1 on the season.
December 1st: The Dragons tipped off the season and defeated the Mustangs 80-48!! It was a great team performance to start the year. Pine City will be in one of the most decorated events in the country on Saturday at the Breakdown Tip-Off Classic in Hopkins. The Dragons take on a very talented team from St. Croix Lutheran at 5:00 pm at Hopkins high school!!
November 30th: Come out and watch the Dragons as they open up the 2021-2022 season at home Tuesday night vs Mora!! JV at 5:45 and Varsity at 7:15.
Nov. 26th: A super huge congratulations to junior Sophie Lahti who has committed to Division 1, University of Wisconsin Green Bay!! We are so proud of you and know you will do great things there!!
There will be a player sign up and meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 3rd in Coach Hasz's classroom for all interested players in 9th-12th grade (and those 8th graders who played jv last season) at 3 pm. The meeting will last 30 minutes. Please make every attempt to attend and let Coach Hasz know in advance if you cannot attend.

With ice cream sales and generous donations, the Hoops for Hope raised over $700 for the fight against cancer. Proceeds will go to the Children's MN and the Harbor Room at Cambridge Hospital. Thanks to all the players that helped out and to NHS student volunteer Scarlet Pantlin!

The Dragons lost for the first time this season to a very talented Hutchinson squad at the Granite City Classic at St Cloud Tech. After leading by 1 at the half, Hutchinson wore down the Dragons and ultimately won 63-43.
On December 17, the Dragons beat St. Cloud Cathedral 79-48! The Dragons are now 6-0! The Dragons will take on Hutchinson at 1 pm on December 26th and Annandale at 1:45 on the 27th in the Granite City Classic. Both games will be played at the new St. Cloud Tech high school.

The 2019-20 Girls' Basketball season has officially begun with an 88-20 win against Aitkin! Next up is Ogilvie!
This talented team finished a very successful season with a 2nd place finish in the Section Tournament. Their final record was an impressive 24-6!
On Friday, February 1 the Pine City Girls Basketball team hosted Hoops for Hope, a fundraiser in the fight against cancer. The team raised $1,380. All proceeds will be donated to The Harbor Room at Cambridge Hospital and Children's MN.
On January 24, 2019, sophomore Ellie Hasz became a member of the 1,000 point club. Congratulations Ellie!

The Dragons great playoff run has come to an end with a loss to Albany in the Section Championship.
Dragons defeat Royalton 53-43 and advance to the section championship!! The Championship will be played on Friday night at 8 pm at St. Cloud State University. The opponent will be the Albany Huskies.

It was a record breaking week for the Dragons as 4 records were broken. The Dragons recorded the 2nd most threes made in a game in Minnesota girls basketball history with 19 made three pointers (13 in the first half). The team was 19-29 on threes for the game.
Lily Wilson surpassed Gretchen Linzmeier's career assist record by recording her 422nd assist on Tuesday night against Braham. Lily also surpassed Jenna Olson's career steals record by recording her 355th career steal on Friday night vs Hinckley/Finlayson. Ellie Hasz broke the single game record by hitting 8 3 pointers on Friday against Hinckley/Finlayson the record was previously held by Lily Wilson.

Dragon Sisters 2016-17
Elementary students, grades kindergarten through 5th grade, who participated in the fall basketball camp were paired up with a varsity player as their "Dragon Sister". During a game last week, they were introduced to the crowd by their Dragon sister and then participated in the introduction of the line-ups and the pre-game huddle.
